Experimentation vs. CRO

It's very much a mindset. At the heart, both disciplines talk to a process of testing one or more variation of a webpage against the original to see which works better.

But whereas conversion rate optimisation emphasises a singular focus on conversion, experimentation is a much broader process focusing on understanding as much as we can about website visitors and learning what works and what doesn't work.

We want to use that learning to drive a better outcome in terms of business impact but acknowledge that sometimes there will be designs and messaging that doesn't work - and that's often just as valuable in terms of minimising loss, as the wins are.
